Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Psalms 20:7
Have you ever found yourself relying on your own strength or the things around you for security and success?
In Psalms 20:7, we are reminded that while some trust in chariots and horses, we are called to trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Chariots and horses in ancient times represented military might and worldly power—things people leaned on for protection and victory.
Today, we might be tempted to place our trust in things like our careers, finances, relationships, or our own abilities. But this verse invites us to reflect on the reality that true security and lasting victory come from God alone.
When I pause to think about this, I realize that no matter how secure or stable my circumstances may seem, they are ultimately uncertain. Only God’s power, His presence, and His will can provide the peace and victory that I long for.
It’s so easy to fall into the trap of depending on what I can see or control, but this verse calls me to shift my focus.
Instead of trusting in the fleeting things around us, We are reminded to place our trust in God, who is unshakable and eternal.
